Richard Rohac
Richard Rohac (1906–1956) was an Austrian designer and master metal craftsman. After apprenticing at the Werkstätte Hagenauer Wien, he opened his own Vienna workshop in 1932. Rohac designed brass sculptures, bookends, corkscrews, smoking accessories and other functional objects, often using stylized animal and figurative motifs. His pieces are identified by the distinctive mirrored-R maker’s mark or the stamp ROHAC WIEN.

A charming sculptural Viennese Mid-Century salt and pepper shakers set with holder displaying a water-carrying Chinese man. Designed and executed in the 1950s by Richard Rohac, who worked also for WHW Werkstätte Hagenauer Vienna. Made of black-finished brass, the shakers are made of bakelite. Marked on its underneath.
