Werkstätte Carl Auböck is a multigenerational Viennese design workshop. Karl Heinrich Auböck, also known as Carl Auböck I (1872–1925), established the family metal workshop and became known for finely crafted bronze objects. Carl Auböck II (1900–1957) continued the workshop and introduced modernist ideas informed by his studies at the Bauhaus, while Carl Auböck III (1924–1993), an architect and industrial designer, expanded its design vocabulary and international orientation. Across these generations, the workshop developed a distinctive body of functional objects characterized by precise craftsmanship, inventive use of materials and understated wit.

A beautiful modernist original and old newspaper stand / magazine rack from the 1950s. Model No. 3808. Designed and manufactured by Carl Auböck, Austria. The news rack is in very good condition, its solid brass frame has been polished by hand, the old leather has been replaced by a new brown cowhide tan leather, which was manufactured by Werkstätte Aubock in Vienna. Our favorite news holder. A timeless piece of furniture.
