A set of two small forks with a leather holster, designed by Carl Auböck and executed by Werkstätte Carl Auböck, Vienna. Originally conceived in the 1930s, this model represents one of Auböck's early designs; we think the present set was manufactured in the 1950s. Originally designed as corn cob skewers or holders—a wonderfully practical idea—these small forks can also be used in a variety of ways at the dining table, for example for serving fruit, cheese, and other small delicacies. The forks are crafted from solid brass with a nickel-plated finish and feature handles made of dark brown wood with reddish grain. The set is housed in its original saddle-stitched leather holster, executed in brown leather. Very good condition, with normal signs of wear. Measurements: width: 4“, height 4.5“, the forks are 4.5“ long. We offer another pair of forks in our other listings.
