A mid-century modern minimalist sugar pot (No. 3536) with matching tongs (No. 3986), designed in 1948 by Carl Auböck II and made by Werkstätte Carl Auböck in Vienna, Austria. The bowl is made from a solid piece of walnut, while the handle and the tongs are made from nickel-plated brass, both wrapped with rattan (wicker / cane). The set is in very good condition, with only normal wear to the nickel. Diameter 4 in., height including handle 5.5 in. This rare set reflects Auböck’s design philosophy: a balance of practical function and timeless elegance.
