Max Ingrand, the renowned French designer, decorator, and glass artist, was born in 1908 in Bressuire. He studied interior architecture at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, focusing on decorative arts under Jacques Gruber and Charles Lemaresquier. Ingrand's career was marked by his production of numerous stained glass windows for various public spaces, religious institutions, hotels, and more. From 1954 to 1964, he served as the artistic director of Fontana Arte, an Italian lighting company, where he designed several successful lamp models, including the enduringly popular Fontana Table Lamp of 1954.
