Claus Josef Riedel
Claus Josef Riedel (1925–2004) was an Austrian glassmaker and the ninth-generation head of the Riedel family company. From the late 1950s he developed thin, undecorated stemware whose shape was designed to influence the aroma and taste of particular wines. His Burgundy Grand Cru glass received a gold medal at Expo 58 and entered the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

A wonderful Brutalism style geometric Op Art ice glass vase from the 1970s. Designed and executed by Claus Josef Riedel in Austria. Made of thick and solid „melting“ crystal glass. Labelled on its front and signed on its underneath, in excellent condition.
