Missoni was founded in Italy in 1953 by Ottavio and Rosita Missoni. The company became internationally known for colorful knitwear created with Raschel knitting machines, particularly its layered zigzag, stripe and geometric patterns. Missoni’s distinctive approach to color and textile design later extended from fashion into rugs, seating and home furnishings.

An amazing colorful postmodern Missoni table or side lamp from the 1980s, designed by Massimo Valloto, executed by Ceramiche Viba, Bassano, Italy. This light has a conical unusual ceramic base with black shiny glaze and an asymmetrical lampshade in the shape of a sail with a colorful 1980s faces print on it. The light is in very good condition.
