Jean-Louis Domecq (1920–1983) was a French mechanic and lighting designer who founded Jieldé. In 1950 he developed a robust articulated workshop lamp with electrical contacts built into its joints, eliminating exposed cables between the arms. The resulting Jieldé lamp became an icon of French industrial design, recognized for its functional construction, adjustable metal arms and circular reflector.
