The Vereinigte Werkstätten für Kunst im Handwerk were founded in Munich in 1898 as an association of artists and craft workshops. Important figures connected with the enterprise included Hermann Obrist, Richard Riemerschmid, Bruno Paul, Bernhard Pankok and Peter Behrens. The workshops produced interiors, furniture, textiles and decorative objects and became an important link between German Jugendstil, the Arts and Crafts movement and the Deutscher Werkbund.

A minimalistic and elegant Mid-Century-Modern / Hollywood-Regency style rectangular tray from the 1970s, crafted by Vereinigte Werkstätten für Kunst und Handwerk, Munich, Germany. Made of perforated sheet metal with a cream-white / off-white finish and subtle brass trim on both sides. In good condition with marginal wear. The design is strongly reminiscent of the work of Mathieu Matégot and the Dutch manufacturer Artimeta. Width 14.5″, depth 8.25″, height 1.5″.
